The Education and Research Foundation of the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan New York, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, has three primary programs:
Charity Review: Through its New York Philanthropic Advisory Service (NYPAS) charity review program, the BBB Foundation provides urgently needed charity accountability information to individual donors, media, corporations, and government leaders. It also provides important technical assistance to charities, enabling them to improve their organizational performance.
Consumer Education: Every year the Foundation educates consumers on hundreds of topics through its website, seminars, and printed material. This year, the Foundation's primary new project is Good Business Practices For Entrepreneurs.
Latino Initiative: The Foundation has undertaken outreach to the Latino consumer and business community as a primary goal. Over time, the Foundation will strive to ensure that every BBB program and resource is available in both English and Spanish. In addition, the Foundation has focused first on ensuring that critical consumer pieces are translated and distributed throughout New York's Latino community.
